About Me

2020

Hi! My name is Linda Kay Balasco, artist behind L.K.B. Art. I found my passion for art in the fourth grade. I won a spot to show my art work at my local mall with other winners from different grades and schools. Unfortunately, I didn’t keep up with it consistently and I got distracted with life. Years later, I met my amazing husband David at nineteen and got married six months later. Two years after that we had our beautiful daughter Athena. We’ve been working hard to give her the perfect life and accomplish our goals. My husband noticed how much I wanted to pursue painting so he encouraged me and bought me a bunch of supplies. I was so excited, I had watched hundreds of art videos and I finally had the chance to put what I learned to work. I regret not pursuing it sooner.

I met a local artist who introduced me to a pop up art show at Studio Unknown in Greenville S.C. By this time I had about six paintings that I was ready to show, and I convinced my eighteen year old sister Marisa Rose to go with me. She was an amazing artist. We fell in love and ended up going to every art show we could. We bonded even more during this time… art became something we loved to share with each other. Tragically, she passed away December 1, 2019. Changing my life forever, I’ll never get past the devastation of losing her. I charish the memories that wouldn’t be possible without our shared passion of art. I never would have thought how important painting would become in my life, helping me grieve the loss of my sister.

I was born and raised in Denver, C.O. with my two siblings for 25 years, but my husband, daughter and I followed my parents to South Carolina after the market became too expensive for us to buy a house in Denver. My family and I enjoy South Carolina because of how peaceful it is.

Random things about me: I am addicted to Hot cheetos! I don’t like monkeys, I’m not saying I want bad things to happen to them I just don’t want to be around them. I never get tired of watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer and  X-Files. I love birds!
